AWARDS, CERTIFICATES AND RECOGNITION:

Awards Local, State and Central Governments, Philanthropists, corporate, Institutional and individual donors and likeminded people have been witnessing a phenomenal change in the life of the visually impaired and people with multiple disabilities. More and more of them are getting educated, becoming qualified professionals and successful businessmen, employed in various business and Government establishments and living a dignified life along with their normal counterparts. NAB, Unit Maharashtra has produced physiotherapists, top ranking bank officers, chartered accountants, professors, Para Olympic players, gold medalist swimmers, international judo players, mountaineers and successful businessmen who are honored with multiple awards which include an award from the president of India. Once what used to be beyond anyone’s comprehension, visually impaired persons are now becoming IAS and IPS officers too. All this has been possible because of the sustained, relentless efforts of NAB and its constant emphasis on education, vocational training, and curricular activities; and needless to mention, the burning desire of our visually impaired persons to succeed and work shoulder to shoulder with normal people. They are determined to succeed.

This dedicated work of the past 35 epochal years has not gone unnoticed. It has been aptly recognized by the society, institutions and Governments. NAB, Unit Maharashtra has received recognition, appreciation, certificates and awards from some prestigious institutions including the State Government.

NAB has been blessed by the renowned poet and writer the late Shri V. V. Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj) who was a big supporter of our work. Now, many schools, celebrities, dignitaries, Indian and foreign social workers, Government agencies and corporate are regular visitors to NAB to see the change happening in the lives of disabled persons and the activities carried out by NAB to bring about this transformation. Most of them write their heartfelt feelings, their first impression in the visitors’ diary about NAB, Unit Maharashtra before leaving the premises.
